There was a time when being a designer would roughly translate to being a graphic designer, a fashion designer or an architect. Since then, the landscape for design has evolved, global technology has gone through multiple revolutionary changes and the dynamics between buyers and sellers in a market have moved far beyond simple transactions. These, paired with the fact that nowadays individuals increasingly opt for more specialized professions, have resulted in design being one of the most diverse and confusing sectors out there.
Truth is, as old as the concept of design is, the discipline as we know it today, is relatively young, immensely broad, and ever expanding. So all the confusion out there regarding the gazillion different kinds of designers out there, is only understandable.
